女人其实很好懂

  1. Sigh...

Those who claim they understand women most probably don't.

We can just try to be understanding and understand that we can never be understood but still need to understand even the misunderstood, and take all misunderstanding as my own misunderstanding, and understand they we can only seek to understand

This is how I feel now in the markets...

A lot of past correlations just don't make sense anymore :(

I'm back being a bei kambing now :)

  2. temperament,

It would be helpful next time you speak in dialect to say which dialect it is ;)

The first line I guess its in cantonese: "What you say?"

The second line I've no clue?

    LOL!

  3. Hi SMOL,

    What about this?

Some things are not meant to be said too clearly.......but nvm, delta males such as myself don't mind the provision of such knowledge. =P

    1. Unintelligent Nerd,

      Ouch! My eyes! My eyes!

      Where you get such "rubbish"?

      I stay clear of misogynists.

I like the company of women :)

    2. Hi SMOL,

The book is written by a lady.

The concepts are not unfamiliar to observant males. Two of your commenters in this post has already made indirect references to it! LOL

    3. Unintelligent Nerd,

      Ah! That makes better sense!

A woman greatest "enemy" is another woman ;)

Yes. For men who have spent more "time" with women, we don't need someone else, or a book, to tell us what we knew about women through our own "crash got sound"...

      LOL!

    4. I go for the "milder" and less "GP-ish" version - men are from mars, women are from venus.

    5. Rainbow girl,

      Finally a woman!

      Balance at last!

If not readers may think its just men sharing sob stories after being "tekan" by the women in their lives...

      LOL!

Yes, I prefer "neutral" books like what you mentioned ;)

Same goes for books showing the differences in body language between men and women.

I don't like books that have an "agenda".

Misogynists and feminists are just opposite sides of the same coin.

  4. Hi Temperament

Both your remarks are in Hakka! Are you Hakka yourself?

  5. Hi SMOL,

    With reference to Temperament's remarks:

"KONG MAK KAI" means what does it (i.e. the message) mean

"NGAI NG DI" means I don't know.

The remarks are pronounced in the Hakka dialect. Just sharing for your info.

If the remarks are to be pronounced in Cantonese, it would read something like this:

"KONG MAK KAI" (Hakka) - Kong mud yeh (Cantonese)

"NGAI NG DI" (Hakka) - ngor m ji dou (Cantonese)

    1. The Sun,

      Thanks for the translations!

For a moment, I thought temperament was "atrocious" in spelling Cantonese!

      LOL!

      What the fish!?

I think temperament must be the first to write in Hakka at this watering hole!!!

      Welcome!

      Clansmen of lao lee :)

      I am Teochew.

      I rejected merchandise :(

  7. temperament,

I can only speak Hokkien, Teochew, and Cantonese.

Hakka and Hainanese I no clue :(

So when I saw "Kong Mak", I immediately register it as Cantonese's, "Say what?"

Just thought you horrible in spelling "Yeh" to "Kai"!?

    LOL!

  8. temperament,

Home with capital letter; war with small cap...

Even you subconsciously don't believe it yourself!?

When dad gets mad, we not afraid.

But when mom gets angry, we ran for cover!

    LOL!

  9. temperament,

Now that's a classic from my generation!

I find it so amusing that songs from the 80s and 90s are considered "oldies" nowadays.

Now I know how mom and dad felt!

    LOL!

  10. Hi Jared,

That is why I always tell my husband it's good I am more 'tomboy'. Less confusion and misinterpretation of my words, don't have to act coy at all. Don't want, don't want la!

  11. So I'm not the only one who can't identify with this.

Anyone, be it man or woman, who tries this with me will get shown my longest finger. :P

I'm pretty sure women like that would be quite a failure and I suspect they don't exist. Men are just too good at imagining things. LOL!

    1. Endrene,

I'll tolerate, and even find it "sweet" or "cute", for those women I'm trying to "romance".

But once we become "old husband old wife", then its no longer fun :(

      LOL!

Oh contrary! Some of these women you "contempt" are quite "powerful" - they know how to twirl their men around their fingers.

They just let us men think we are the "stronger" sex ;)

    1. WolfT,

Yes, too easy we take our women for granted.

      Too difficult we give up.

The skilled woman is to treat men like "flying kite".

Know when to let the strings loose, know when to reel us in.

      ;)

  13. Hi SMOL,

I think the way to people (not just women) is to listen and not just hear. I face that all the time when talking to students, though they are easier to read. I ask them if they understand, they say yes. I tested them, and realise it's a no. So I don't ask, I listen to all my senses and I observe. I guess it's the same for adults too.

The only reason to ask is to see if there is any divergence between what they say and what they intend. How to spot the divergence? That's a whole new article haha

    1. LP,

      Ah! Trust but verify ;)

This skill is important in the corporate world when we become shepherds and land owners.

Employees and subordinates often behave like your students - say yes, they understand; when we verify - blur like sotong!

P.S. Women naturally knew how to spot divergence between what we say and what we intend ;)

      LOL!
