  4. To find out what is waiting like. Try public transport out of Singapore.

    1. CW,

      Tell me about it!

OK, Shanghai and HK as good as, if not better than Singapore ;)

I must say I'm very impressed with HK's public transport system. To the same location, I can choose between MTR, small bus, and the regular big busses. Competition and redundancy good for consumers!

      But in Athens...

Metro equivalent average wait is every 10 minutes interval.

Bus around 20 to 30 minutes.

Throw in frequent union strikes (even taxis go on strikes), I decided to walk 80 minutes to and fro from work during my last year when Greek crisis erupted :(

Good bonus exercise! Free one some more!

      LOL!

    What talking you?

  6. Waiting can be a virtue and test of patience. In most of the circumstance, it is not advisable to wait. Time waits for no man or woman. Just take action.

    1. Ben,

      Its like that door post.

Sometimes we should knock and wait for the door to open; sometimes we should just move on...

The problem is telling the difference!

Hence, most people would prefer to avoid making any decisions... But like you've said, time is ticking...

    2. Hi Smol,

I am of view that sometimes it is very difficult to decipher the difference. This is a possibility of one misinterpreting the difference. Novethless, it is better to make the decision immediately based on the prevailing circumstance and assessment. Action is better than non-action via procrastination.

    3. Ben,

Of course it is tough to tell the difference!

Some people, even though they have 10 years of experience, when we talk to them, we discover its merely 1st year experiece times 10 years!

That's the price of doing the same thing over and over again; never making any tough decisions or exploring something else along the way...

Then they are those who not afraid of "crash got sound". Do first then ask for forgiveness. Win some; lose some...

With 10 years of bitter sweet track record, I'll bet they would have a little bit more wisdom when it comes to - when to wait; when to let go...

      ;)

    4. Smol,

This beats better than doing nothing at all. No action is akin to waiting for the durian to drop from the sky. This is indeed a reactive approach. Action is equivalent to making the decision and gaining the experience along the way. I will like to add one more things to try the different style of work. Of course, I am not referring to the works which include illegal activities. The same also applies to the work which may include grey area in which there is little differentiation between legal and illegal things. I quote one example of bike-sharing scheme in Singapore. It originated as a fresh and entreprenurial idea and eventually ended up as closed-down due to unknown reason (the details not reported in the media). This case is currently probed by the Authority. An example of crash got sound. Is it worthwhile for the starter of such business to start off with such plan? It depends on various individuals. If this business turned up to be a success, people will use it as an excellent example of business success. Afterall, it is a learning experience for the people involved.

  7. temperament,

    LOL!

If people didn't know better, they would have thought we are two lovers quarrelling...

"U lost me because U can't wait for me anymore."

Now that's a line we read from romantic novels or movies!

Bloody hell, so that's what you did! No wonder talking to you in the recent months was a little bit "exasperating" ;)

You've become more "slippery"; your positions keep "shifting".

Looks like your meditation training has the opposite effect on me!?

Anyway, there are no doors at this watering hole. You're always welcome if you feel like chatting :)

    We had fun, didn't we?

You're not my customer, and I not trying to monetise your readership into my alternative source of income.

You know I'll say it like it is ;)

  8. Smol,

This is the way how communication should be. Sometimes it gels. Sometimes it does not make sense. It is not an issue in my perspective,

Be happy. Can already. Like what you mentioned. "Crack got sound". The sound makes all happy and laugh. Life is short and Happiness is the way to go.

    1. Rainbow girl,

This sounds a lot like - when I'm financially free, then I'll...

Very few people have the courage to live in the present.

Most will either prefer to live in the past (it was better in the 80s); or live in the future (when I have X, then I'll do Y).

    2. Smol,

Don't wait for the second chance which is very unlikely to come. Seize the present moment and live in the present. It's more practical.

    2. Smol,

This is one of the challenges which I deem necessary to overcome if one is to be free from such obiligation. Adopt the approach of ignoring the expectations of all which include the close ones. How many can do that? It will be an uphill barrier. Hence, few can make it.

Anything worth doing is usually hard :(

We manipulate others, and let others manipulate us.

Big daddy tells us moving the goal posts is for our own good...

Our boss gave us opportunities and promoted us from nothing; now we must accept a new position we don't like...

Tiger moms guilt their children into doing what they want by drilling into children the "sacrifices" mom has made...

Friends put us in a tight spot to sell us useless products, "Eh! So many years brother, support me can?"
