Bad Handwriting

10 comments:

  1. Hi SMOL,

Seems that we had this conversation before, hmm...

Gifted people having bad handwriting doesn't mean that if you have bad handwriting, you're a genius. I also have 2 modes of handwriting. When I'm upset, I usually write neater and more structured. But when I'm elated, it's usually more messy.

In my line of work, I've seen all sorts of handwriting. Gifted people don't own the rights to good handwriting lol

    1. LP,

      Yes, that we had ;)

Found this pic so I thought might as well post it here to make it "official" ;)

I so freaking "genius" that I often can't make out what I've scribbled down myself!?

I next level game play or what?

      LOL!

  2. After I gained warp speed for my typing skills, I lost the strength for holding a pen.

    1. Patty,

With more frequent computer usage, I have "evolved", no, more like degenerated...

Now I can't write Chinese characters without MS pinyin input :(

In the past, still got chance to write with pen and paper when compiling my shopping list like: buy soy sauce, buy milk, buy salted eggs; etc.

Now that I've got a Xiaomi smart phone, I just keypunch into the Notes app.

      Die!

Will pen and paper go the way like the pager and mathematics logbook?

    2. Thankfully I still use paper and pen for my daily work. To be honest, I find that pen and paper is better for thinking. The slower writing speed plus the increased effort makes you think before writing, lest you make an error and you have to redo it. No such things as copy and paste and undo. Hence, for planning, I always do it in pen and paper.

For speed, typing is much faster. I use it for non essential task, or task that don't require much thought. Journalling (as a meditative activity) is great on handphones, because I don't think, I just type whatever I'm feeling.

I guess like all tools, we need to know when to utitlise them to bring out our best.

    3. LP,

I'll keep a lookout for chinese calligraphy classes at the CCs.

I guess it would be fun to be able to write my chinese name with brushstrokes?

      You're right.

I need a tool to slow my pace down.

      To still my mind ;)

    1. Sillyinvestor,

      It is true.

"Kung fu" don't practice will "depreciate" one!

Sometimes I over confident. Thought I mastered a craft already. No need to practice anymore.

Then find myself fall flat big time!

      LOL!

  4. I write so seldom with a pen now that I feel shaky in front of customers. I think the neural pathways that take care of writing in my brain are fading fast.

Need to get back in the pen game before it's too late.

    Long live the mighty pen!
