Wah...the 易容术 must be very powderful (pun intended). :P
This is just a different manifestation of the kind who seeks FF to escape. Can't bear the look in the mirror not being comparable to those who have it. Try so hard to maintain a facade. LOL.
There are 2 excesses. One like what sleepdevil pointed out, the excesses for tail-end consumer. Facial recognition is good. Just like 2FA authentication, but hey please hor, dun even accounts also 2FA....
Also facial recognition when pushed to the limits can help find/identify lost kids and reunite family. Or the dark use of it up to your imagination ...
The next is the excesses of self to indulge on it. Make up is a “defense mechanism” but at least the wife knowing put on it knowing it “unlock” the conveniences of the “mordern society”
Worse is, wife wakes hubby up and says “hubby! Hubby iPhone X is scam, it’s facial authentication doesn’t work!”
Teething technology problems that will be solved one day...
I remember when the camera feature was added to handphones, the quality was really bad. Today? The quality is so good that nobody buys the idiot proof compact cameras anymore... Another disruption...
Technology is moving faster and faster. It will be interesting to see how they will rollout driverless cars within our lifetimes ;)
But technology like you say has a good and dark side...
Loading a tracking app into a smartphone can help parents monitor their children's movements after school.
But when a spouse secretly downloads the same app into our smartphone without our knowledge...
Lol!
ReplyDeleteCW,
DeleteMarried men and those of us who have lived-in-sin would appreciate better ;)
LOL!

Endrene,
DeleteYou don't say!
I sometimes frighten myself when visit the bathroom in the morning...
Shock!!! Who is it?
Oh, its just me...
LOL!
Haha! What technology has brought upon us!
ReplyDeleteTell the silly wife that she would be able to unlock it with a pin instead :p
sleepydevil,
DeleteIt makes us wonder why we pay for the facial recognition feature when anyone with a pin can unlock it ;)
Bells and whistles.
If not how to upsell?
LOL!
