Lizard on the fence

Open field between the old Mei Chin secondary and primary school

The camera picture quality on a mobile phone 10 years ago was atrocious.

Now they are on par with most point-and-shoot idiot proof compact cameras.

Noticed this curious lizard watching the school kids playing football on my way back from breakfast at the Mei Ling street food centre.

How?

I think I better practice more picture taking. Kung fu never use will depreciate one...

  1. Lizards are not good at climbing wire maze fence. Poor fellow is struggling. Wrong place to go up mountain. Go and climb wall next time.

    1. CW,

This lizard is not the same "gekko" house lizards that climb into our homes.

I think this specie of lizard is what we call "4 legged snake" in Hokkien?

I've never seen them climb walls... Trees yes!

I'll freak out if I woke up and see one on my ceiling!!!

That's the power of youth! They don't know what cannot be done.

So like rock climbing, this lizard took up the challenge and climbed, and made it! Yeah! (Coming down is another story though)

You know what? The lizard is just sun-tanning lah!

Cold blooded so needs to re-charge batteries :)

    2. Hi SMOL,

You know what, this is exactly what I am supposed to write when I saw cw's reply. I wrote that the lizard is climbing down the mountain, not up the mountain, and it's going down after having a nice suntan to warm his reptilian blood. I just self censored and replied directly to you lol

      Uncanny...

    3. LP,

      That's it!

Next time we go to a gathering, we better check with each other first.

Wait we arrived wearing similar clothes... Now that would be awkward!

      LOL!

  2. The most valuable investment one can make is not in stocks.

    And it's in yourself ;)

See.. even the lizard wants to learn!

    1. sleepydevil,

You 3 machine gun me... Each seeing this post from different perspectives ;)

I not sure about learning, but I know when there's a football match at the nearby Queenstown stadium, I know my younger self would do what the lizard did ;)

Now that they sell tickets to the matches, the fences are all blocked up :(

    1. LP,

I'm curious and young at heart too :)

If I'm on the other side of the fence, the pic will be a bit RA...

The lizard "speading eagle" and all... That would be rude!

      LOL!

    1. coconut,

This kind of lizard very common at my place. I often see them sun tanning on the footpaths in the mornings.

Most would scurry away when I approached.

But this one so funny. It's "stucked" there with no where to go; trying to blend in with the fence when I approached for a close-up shot with my Xiaomi phone :)

Talk about caught in a compromising position!

  5. Hi Jared,

The lizard is a true master of sitting on the fence. Probably a good skill for married men who are caught between the mother and wife. Haha!

    1. Jes,

The "creativity" of you people never cease to amaze me!

How did we end up with feuding between wife and mother?

Mother feels no woman is good enough for her son...

Wife thinks she should be the only woman in her husband's life...

      I think I should remain single ;)

    2. Haha, that's the fun of blogging isn't it? Everyone with their own interpretation. 瞎子摸象?

Well I believe in your snake oil skills, don't even need to learn from the lizard. If you want lots of girlfriends also ok, sure can tahan! =D

    3. Jes,

That's venturing intot the bigger "4-legged-snake" category as in "buaya" crocodile :)
