心平气和

11 comments:

  1. Smol,

I am back bringing pupils for overseas trip. My trip always very happening, this time there was a traffic accident and my son was sick back in Singapore. Wife having problems at work etc.

Pupil got bitten by bug and multiple parts swollen.

I can really resonate with the last line 遇事冷静,就能心平气和。

While I feel the full force of "sianzness" when all the things come to me, I remind myself to focus on the "当下”, and just manage accordingly. Tell myself to call back home later but still enjoy the company and the childlikeness of the kids.

Then, when the window comes, do what is necessary. Get the kids off the bus with smash windscreen, and ask them to move to a field to do exercises and laugh. Another teacher saw what I did, end up teaching them a dance. Happy mood, not affected by the fact we are stranded for almost 1.5 hours.

    1. Sillyinvestor,

we can attend 101 courses and read 1001 books on mindfulness, 当下, and what have you.

We still have to put it in PRACTICE right?

I'm happy for you level of cultivation!

No, we won't get a pay rise, a promotion, or even make more money.

      But if feels good right?

How we REACT to outside stimulus is up to us; we have CONTROL over our own emotions.

      And that's cool :)

Its infectious. Glad the other teacher came and joined in too!

Who wants to be around the person who always like to rant and complain?

  2. Smol,

That teacher is from China who is supposed to take care of us. I guess she is a bit embrassed that the accident happen and I am the one entertaining the kids muhahaha.

After that I can relax and take photos while she teach them to dance.

Cultivation, ya... dun dare to say, it's very flickle. Sometimes can keep calm sometime cannot.

    1. temperament,

      Yup.

      "Know" them.

      "Strange" flesh.

Different churches may interpret "know and "strange" with non-sexual or homosexual meanings.

Depending whether that denomination consider homosexuality and transgenderism to be sins.

Words can illuminate; words can deceive.

  4. "佛也有怒"

So the Bible recorded many times where GOD had shown his wrath or indignation.

Sodom and Gomorrah was one instance.

    Who are we mere mortals?

For me there is a time for everything - including anger.

The problem is how to harness this fire(aka anger) that it can be used positively.

    Usually fail to do so.

That's when we lose our "cool".

Then we regret why we behave so badly or even so stupidly.

  5. There is no excuse for anyone of us to lose our cool.

    Believer or Non-Believer.

    1. temperament,

      Careful now...

First you said even the big guy upstairs has lost his cool...

Then you say there is no excuse...

Talk about a "spear and shield" moment! LOL!

      Buddhists say 口业。

Our 5,000 years of Chinese wisdom says 祸从口出。

      ;)

    2. Correction of your understanding hoh!

Not i say God had shown his wrath on Sodom & Gomorrah.

      And many more instances.

      All are from the BIBLE.

(i don't or never understand why you said i said.)

How can i say something about GOD if it's not from the Bible?

      It's blasphemy you know!

i only said we are mere mortals; how can we dare to compare?

As mere mortal, of course we will lose our cool at times.

But when we lose our cool there is no excuse for anyone; for any reason.

If there is an excuse, then one can get away even with murder; simply the deceased has provoked me to do it lor.

As why God had shown his wrath, we only can try to understand from what the GOOD BOOK said.

It seems we are talking with each of us with a different reference or base to begin with.

i think we have misunderstood each other.
